Fart Together multiplayer at a glance
Both official Steam descriptions identify 2–4 players and online co-op. Players share a raft rather than moving through the course independently. GamesMrkt’s main-game Early Access answers also mention Xbox and PlayStation DualSense controller support.
Controller support describes an input device; it does not confirm an Xbox or PlayStation console edition. We have not confirmed local split-screen, Remote Play Together, single-player support or cross-platform play from the checked official listings. Those items remain open questions rather than features this guide promises.
Before you invite everyone
- Choose the same app. The free demo and the planned main game are separate Steam listings. Agree which one you will launch; do not assume the apps can share a lobby.
- Finish installation and updates. Use the official download paths and check the listed Windows requirements on every PC.
- Confirm your group size. Plan around the published 2–4 player range. Do not arrange a five-player session on the assumption that extra slots exist.
- Allow setup time. Have everyone launch the app before the agreed play window so an update or first-run setup does not consume it.
- Choose your communication method. A short countdown and consistent direction words may help the group coordinate. We have not verified an in-game voice-chat feature.
- Agree on a real time. Use the co-op session planner if players are in different time zones. Share the date as well as the hour.
These steps cover preparation. We have not yet verified a complete in-game invitation sequence, so this page does not invent host buttons, lobby codes or a menu path.
Once the game is open
Use the current version’s own multiplayer options and prompts. If the interface offers more than one joining method, tell your friends which one you are using and keep account details out of public posts. Confirm that every player has successfully joined before beginning a coordinated attempt.
Spend the first run observing the shared raft. Agree what “left” means from the group’s viewpoint and nominate someone to call the next intended movement. Rotate that role if it helps. These are communication exercises, not verified game mechanics or guaranteed winning tactics. The starter guide gives a structured way to learn without assuming particular key bindings.
If someone cannot connect
Start with checks that do not change the group’s security settings:
- Check that everyone is opening the same Steam app and has completed available updates.
- Record the exact error message and whether the problem happens before or after joining.
- Check whether the affected player has a working internet connection and whether Steam is otherwise reachable.
- If appropriate, restart the app and try again once. Repeatedly changing unrelated settings makes the cause harder to identify.
- Consult the game’s official Steam discussions or developer-linked support with the app name, version if visible, and the error details.
We have not established port-forwarding requirements, a particular firewall exception, host-migration behavior or a universal connection fix. Do not disable security software based on a guess from a fan page.
Multiplayer questions
Does each person need to buy a copy?
The demo is free, but the checked sources do not establish a friend-pass or shared-purchase arrangement for the main game. Do not interpret Steam Family Sharing as a promise that one purchase supports four simultaneous players. Check the actual purchase terms when available; see price information.
Can Android and PC players join each other?
We have not established an official Android version or mobile/PC cross-play. Start with the mobile status page if a friend has found an APK or app listing.
Is Team Race available?
The developer’s current main-game Early Access description says Team Race is still being developed and is absent from that build. Treat online co-op and a future race mode as different claims.
